JOE KLINEDINST
Before his tragic passing, Joe Klinedinst was a 1994 graduate of Dallastown High School where he participated in football, wrestling and baseball.
In 1999, Joe graduated from Millersville University where he was a member of the wrestling team for four years.
Joe returned to Dallastown High School in 2000 as a teacher of technology education and video - film production. He coached baseball, wrestling and cross-country.
In 2006, Joe hiked the Appalachian Trial and took up kayaking, mountain biking and trail running, competing in his first triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, 26.2 mile run) in 2008.
Joe ran in the 2014 Boston Marathon and went on to participate in the 2016 and 2019 Ironman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii. In 2022 and 2023, Joe was ranked No. 1 for the 45-49 age group by USA Triathlon and before his passing qualified for the Ironman in 2024.
Joe started a coaching business named “JK Endurance Coaching’ and documented his Ironman comeback from a torn meniscus on YouTube.
Overall, Joe Klinedinst competed in more than 150 marathons and triathlons in his career, serving as an inspiration to all, which along with his coaching makes him a 2025 York Area Sports Hall of Fame inductee.
