At only 18-years-old for most of the 2008 racing season, Cody Darrah established himself among the top 410 series sprint car drivers in Central Pennsylvania - an area considered a hot bed of dirt track racing.
The year started great for the young man that graduated from Red Lion High School. In fact, before he received his diploma he finished third at Williams Grove in a race that included the World of Outlaws and NASCAR star Kasey Kahne.
Two months later, Cody posted his first-ever 410 feature wins at Lincoln Speedway by winning a pair of races on the same night, something even most of the area’s most renowned drivers have not accomplished.
For the season, Cody had five wins overall, 10 top-5 finishes and consistently placed in the top-10 at area tracks like Lincoln and Williams Grove Speedway. Despite missing a few races, he ended the campaign 10th in points at the Grove, 13th at Lincoln and eighth in the multi-track Central PA Speed Dawg point series.
On top of those accomplishments, he found the perfect way to cap his break-out season in September, when he reigned victorious at the prestigious National Open at Williams Grove, earning a $12,000 pay check for the win.
He is the son of Joe and Kitty Darrah. In fact, Joe Darrah’s company, J&K Salvage serves as the main sponsor for Cody’s racing team.
