Diann has represented the United States in three Olympic Games, four World Championships, and a Pan American Games. She has played her part in America’s medal count with Olympic gold and silver medals, a World Championship gold medal, and a Pan American gold medal in the sport of Alpine Skiing. After competing for the United States for eleven years, she majored in Marketing at Clarkson University and has been a motivational speaker since 1985. Today she is Director of Business Development for Cloister Wash & Lube.
Diann is originally from upstate New York, and now resides with her husband Art Pursel, in Camp Hill, PA. She is a certified Challenge Course facilitator for the Flying Leap ropes course at Ski Roundtop. Diann is an Advisory Council member for the Women’s Leadership Network of the United Way Capital Region, recently she was the 2006 American Heart Association Capital Region Heart Walk Chair, a board member for the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, a Director for the West Shore Chamber of Commerce, and travels often to present at corporate events. She has spoken for Visa, American Express, USA Today, Subaru, and many local organizations. Her charitable interests include, the United Way of the Capital Region, The American Heart Association, Boys and Girls Club, and the Special Olympics. In August of 2007, Diann was named The American Heart Association’s Volunteer of the Year for the Capital Region.
